Hope Scholarship

HOPE is an acronym for  Help Overcome Poverty through Education.

In 2010, my wife and I decided to help 3 churches and a sugarcane plantation by sponsoring one student from each location to go to school for one whole year.  Our main purpose was to change one life which we did not know at that time whether such a program could work.  But we entrusted God knowing that He is always in control and His sovereignty will be our basis of commitment.

The second year, we told some of our closest family members and friends and they loved the idea.  So, in 2011 the number of students grew to 25 students.  Then on 2012, more friends and co-workers participated so the sponsored number of children even grew more and became 56 scholars!  Considering that 2013 had a lot of economic challenges, we thought that if we could just meet the same number of students, then we would regard the project successful. Guess what was the number for that year? 73 students!

The following school year 2014-2015, more donors joined and we were able to sponsor 90 students.  By God's grace and design, He has continued blessing our ministry.  Every year, our partners believed in what we have accomplished and we are pushing through into the future.  This year 2017, we celebrated our 7th year of God's faithfulness with 117 scholars.

God is good, all the time!  All the time, God is good!
